What is FRP?
The Strength Behind Our Craft

Fiber-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) is a high-performance composite material that combines a durable polymer base with strong reinforcing fibers—typically glass, carbon, aramid, or basalt. Known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and long-lasting performance, FRP is widely used across demanding industries such as aerospace, automotive, marine, and construction.

At Anganaya Engineering, we harness the potential of FRP to craft not only beautiful planters but also durable outdoor furniture, playground equipment, and utility products for hospitals. This advanced material allows us to deliver innovative designs that are lightweight, weather-resistant, and built to last—making FRP the ideal choice for both form and function.

The Origin of FRP

Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) is a revolutionary composite material known for its strength, lightness, and durability—ideal for crafting long-lasting planters and design elements. FRP is made by combining a polymer base with reinforcing fibers such as fiberglass, carbon, or aramid.

The journey of FRP began with the invention of Bakelite, the first synthetic plastic, by Belgian-American chemist Leo Baekeland in 1905. Originally seeking an alternative to shellac, Baekeland experimented with natural resins and fibers. His breakthrough came when he controlled the pressure and temperature applied to phenol and formaldehyde, creating a tough, moldable material. This innovation laid the foundation for the advanced FRP materials we use today in our products—blending modern engineering with a legacy of scientific progress.

MAINTENANCE GUIDE FRP PRODUCTS

Simple steps to keep your Fiber Reinforced Plastic products looking and performing like new.

Basic Care
BASIC CARE TIPS
  • Use: Mild soap or detergent with warm water and a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Avoid: Abrasive scrubbers, plastic covers or harsh chemicals that may damage the surface.
  • Frequency: Clean once a week or as needed, depending on usage.
  • Covered storage: Store products in shaded, dry areas when not in use for extended periods.
Fire Safety
FIRE SAFETY
  • Standard FRP is flame-resistant to some extent, but always follow general fire safety protocols.
  • Flame-retardant versions are available upon request for specific applications.
Sanitization
SANITIZATION
  • Use alcohol-based wipes or safe disinfectants for high-contact items like benches and tables.
  • Allow surfaces to air-dry completely before use.
Hardware Check
HARDWARE CHECK
  • For products with joints (e.g., benches, tables), inspect bolts and fasteners every few months.
  • Tighten any loose fittings to maintain structural stability.
Outdoor Exposure
OUTDOOR EXPOSURE
  • FRP is UV-resistant, but long-term sun exposure may cause slight fading.
  • Place under shade if possible.
  • Use a UV-protective polish or clear coat once a year to maintain color.
Weather Resistance
WEATHER RESISTANCE
